Transnet Port Terminals

Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) is one of five operating divisions of Transnet SOC Limited, South Africa’s state-owned freight transport and handling company. We are responsible for commercial handling services of sea-route freight across imports, exports and transhipments in containers, bulk, break-bulk and automotive.

TPT is now offering container packing and unpacking services at 7 multi-purpose terminals

TPT has obtained 7 licenses for its multipurpose terminals namely: Richards Bay, Maydon Wharf, Durban Point

Car Terminal, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, and Saldanha.  The acquisition of these licenses for packing and unpacking of containers, agri, breakbulk and mineral bulk is an achievement and good news for small miners, traders and customers who will see a cutback in the logistics chain as it directly results in the reduction of business costs.

TPT plays a critical role in the logistics chain, facilitating cargo movement between South Africa and the rest of the world. The recent attainment of operational licenses adds value to the business operational efficiencies while serving customers and stakeholders better.
